73: I Haven't Even Had a Boyfriend Yet!

73: I Haven't Even Had a Boyfriend Yet! Strolling along the roadside, Shen Yifei glanced over, spotting a familiar BMW X6 parked just outside a local eatery.

It was Liu Xiaoxiao's.

What an unexpected encounter. Figuring he could snag a ride, Shen Yifei headed straight for the restaurant.

Meanwhile, Liu Xiaoxiao's mood had plummeted to an all-time low. She couldn't believe a simple takeout run had devolved into this nightmare.

She recalled the delectable braised fish she’d had at a certain eatery before, so she'd driven there, intending to grab some takeout.

But to her dismay, after nearly half an hour of waiting in the ground-floor lobby, her food was nowhere in sight. What *did* appear was a throng of burly men, encircling her.

“Our Boss Bao would like a word with you upstairs, Miss.”

Her heart lurched at the sight of the hulking figures closing in. Liu Xiaoxiao fought to maintain her composure, her voice steady as she replied, “I’m sorry, I don’t know anyone called Boss Bao.”

A few of the thugs exchanged chilling grins. Before Liu Xiaoxiao could even resist, they seized her and dragged her forcibly upstairs.

A flush of alarm spread across Liu Xiaoxiao's pretty face. This was a nightmare she'd never envisioned. Was she about to be kidnapped?

Her mind racing with frantic thoughts, she was yanked into a suite on the second floor.

A powerfully built man, impeccably dressed in a suit, sat back in an executive chair, a slow smile spreading across his face as he regarded Liu Xiaoxiao. Unhurriedly, he produced a cigar, which a nearby bodyguard promptly lit.

This formidable man was none other than Cao Bao (a prominent figure in the local underworld), the very same individual who’d chased Shen Yifei in that Audi R8. As it turned out, several streets in this part of Qinghu District (a local administrative division) fell directly under his dominion.

While on his rounds of inspection today, he'd stumbled upon that distinctive BMW X6—the one that had left such a searing impression. Cao Bao hadn't hesitated, immediately ordering his men to keep a close watch.

And thus, this current predicament had unfolded.

“What do you want?” Liu Xiaoxiao demanded, pulling her arms free from the two hulking men who’d held her. A frown creased her brow.

“What do I want?” Cao Bao snorted, a derisive laugh escaping him. “You’ve got some nerve, woman. Last time, you pulled a ‘dine and dash’ (eating without paying) at my establishment. I’m sure you haven’t forgotten that, have you?”

Liu Xiaoxiao's expression flickered. So, it was about *that* incident. Her car must have been spotted outside, leading to her identification.

“Ah, *that*,” Liu Xiaoxiao said, maintaining a deceptively calm demeanor. “It was nothing more than a drunken misunderstanding with a friend, a trivial farce. We were certainly in the wrong, and I’m prepared to offer double compensation.”

Cao Bao exhaled a plume of smoke, his leering gaze trailing over Liu Xiaoxiao’s flawless figure. “Seems you’re not short on coin, Miss,” he chuckled, “so why pull a stunt like that at *my* bar? And where’s that punk who was with you last time?”

“Look,” Liu Xiaoxiao said coolly, “let’s settle this quietly. I’ll give you 250,000. Is that sufficient?”

Cao Bao clicked his tongue. “It’s not just about the money, doll. Pulling a dine-and-dash in my territory—if word gets out, I’ll be a laughingstock! My reputation (face in the underworld) would be ruined.”

“Men like me, in the underworld (criminal circles), we live and die by our pride. That 250,000 can be for compensation, but you’re still bringing that punk here. I’m gonna cut out his tongue and see if he ever pulls a dine-and-dash again!”

Liu Xiaoxiao’s complexion paled slightly. “In that case,” she quickly offered, “I’ll give you 500,000. Just please, don’t harm my friend.”

Cao Bao’s grin widened into a triumphant sneer. “I *told* you, this ain’t about money! I’m a man of some standing in Huahai City’s (a major metropolitan area) underworld. Your friend dared to brazenly insult me (literally ‘slap my face’) by pulling a dine-and-dash. If I don’t teach him a lesson, I’ll lose all credibility!”

The memory of losing that last race still rankled. Cao Bao, intensely competitive by nature, had been utterly humiliated by Shen Yifei’s almost supernatural driving prowess, and the bitter sting of jealousy was almost unbearable.

Coupled with Shen Yifei’s arrogant demeanor, that lingering resentment had festered within Cao Bao, leaving him seething. He *had* to teach that punk a brutal lesson, starting with his tongue.

A wave of panic washed over Liu Xiaoxiao. *What kind of dine-and-dash did that scoundrel Shen Yifei pull?* she thought, *He’s gone and provoked the wrong people, hasn’t he?*

“Just name your price, and I’ll transfer the money to your account—as long as you let us go,” Liu Xiaoxiao said, her jaw tight, her teeth gritted.

Despite their constant bickering and rivalry, she had no desire to see Shen Yifei harmed. These men were numerous, formidable, and clearly dangerous. Liu Xiaoxiao refused to throw him to the wolves (to put him in a dangerous, hopeless situation).

“Hmph,” Cao Bao sneered, a wicked glint in his eye. “Didn’t realize you were so devoted, little lady, willing to go this far for a man? But no dice! I, Cao Bao, don’t like to rough up women. If you’re smart, you’ll call that punk right now, right in front of me. If not, don’t blame me for resorting to… other methods.” He finished with a wild, triumphant laugh.

Liu Xiaoxiao’s elegant brows drew together in a tight knot. Gritting her teeth, she bit out, “Is there truly no room for negotiation?”

“Oh, there is,” Cao Bao drawled, his eyes devouring Liu Xiaoxiao’s ample cleavage and slender waist. A truly repulsive smirk twisted his lips. “If you’re not playing ball, you can spend a few nights with me and my boys. Keep us happy, and we’ll call it even.”

At his words, a collective gulp echoed through the room from the surrounding men. The very thought of dominating such a stunning beauty was enough to make them lose all control.

Rage surged within Liu Xiaoxiao, but she managed to keep her voice level, a steely edge to it. “My name is Liu Xiaoxiao. I am the daughter of Liu Jianguo, the District Party Secretary (a powerful regional government official), and the director of Ailing International (a major corporation)!”

Having exhausted all other options, she resorted to playing her trump card—her identity—praying these thugs would back down once they realized who she was.

Cao Bao, never one for keen intellect, bristled immediately at what he perceived as a threat. “I don’t give a damn who you are!” he bellowed. “You could be a goddess (a celestial being in Chinese mythology), but if I’ve set my eyes on you, you won’t escape my grasp! If you don’t hand over that punk right now, I swear I’ll strip you naked on the spot!”

Liu Xiaoxiao’s shoulders trembled slightly, not from fear, but from a furious indignation she had never known. From childhood to adulthood, she had never been subjected to such an egregious insult.

Noticing Liu Xiaoxiao’s slight trembling, Cao Bao’s smile turned smug. He assumed she was finally terrified.

She might project an aura of detached elegance, but ultimately, she was just a woman. Liu Xiaoxiao’s statuesque, alluring beauty truly ignited Cao Bao’s primal urge for conquest—a conquest, naturally, to be achieved in the bedroom.

“I strongly advise you not to lay a hand on me,” Liu Xiaoxiao said, her face paling. “Otherwise, I guarantee you will live to regret this day!” No matter how aloof or formidable she tried to appear, she was no match for the brutal reality of her situation.

“Regret?” Cao Bao scoffed, crushing his cigar. “The word ‘regret’ isn’t in my vocabulary, little lady!” He pushed himself up from his chair and strode towards Liu Xiaoxiao.

Beads of sweat prickled on Liu Xiaoxiao’s pale neck. The mounting pressure and burgeoning terror finally proved too much, and she instinctively recoiled several steps, backing herself against the window.

Cao Bao’s gaze was fixed greedily on Liu Xiaoxiao’s high, full bosom and her porcelain skin. The mere thought of touching her, feeling that exquisite softness, was enough to make his mouth water.

*No, I can’t let this woman go untouched. This burning desire is too much to suppress!*

His eyes alight with wicked glee, Cao Bao rubbed his hands together, poised to lunge forward and claim his prize.

“Don’t come any closer! Or I’ll jump!” Liu Xiaoxiao shrieked, her voice thick with panic, as she stared at Cao Bao’s lecherous, predatory gaze.

“Jump? Not so fast, dollface,” Cao Bao scoffed, a dark chuckle rumbling in his chest. Then, turning to his thugs, he roared, “What are you waiting for? Get over there and grab her!”

Utter terror seized Liu Xiaoxiao, and a glimmer of despair flickered in her eyes. Never in her life, not since the day she was born, had she faced such a horrifying ordeal. She had only ever seen such scenes unfold in movies and novels, never dreaming they could become her own grim reality.

*I haven’t even been in love yet, haven’t even had a boyfriend! Oh, heavens, how can this be happening to me?*
