34: I Bloody Can't Stand Taekwondo Practitioners!

Stepping out of the Peach Blossom Residential Complex, Shen Yifei pulled out his phone and dialed Su Muqing.

“Hello, Ms. Su, are you home now? I’m on my way back,” Shen Yifei said into the receiver.

At his words, Su Muqing’s temper flared, and she scoffed lightly, “You still remember how to come back?”

“My apologies, Ms. Su, that was just an accident,” Shen Yifei stammered, feeling a little awkward and unsure how to explain himself.

“I didn’t ask for an explanation, nor am I interested in one. Zhang Wenzhi just called me, saying he wants to treat us to lunch today,” Su Muqing replied, her tone cool and detached.

“Zhang Wenzhi?” Shen Yifei paused, perplexed. Why would that ‘pale-faced fop’—a man notorious for his delicate constitution—want to treat him to a meal?

“And you agreed?”

“Zhang Wenzhi is my university classmate, after all. His attitude was quite persistent, so I had no choice but to agree on your behalf. By the way, he’ll be driving over to pick us up soon. Hurry back,” she said, and then hung up.

Shen Yifei shrugged, scoffing at the thought. The 'pale-faced fop' inviting him to lunch—it surely wasn't out of good intentions.

He didn’t bother to dwell on it. If Zhang Wenzhi dared to provoke him again, Shen Yifei wouldn’t mind giving him a memorable lesson.

He hailed a taxi and soon arrived back at the villa.

Just as Shen Yifei stepped inside, a black Maserati pulled up outside the villa’s gate. Zhang Wenzhi, clad in a coffee-colored suit, strode out, his face flushed with feigned enthusiasm.

Hearing the car, Su Muqing also emerged from the villa’s grand hall. She had changed into a refreshing summer dress, which, paired with her long, elegant legs and fair skin, exuded a fresh and refined charm that was truly eye-catching.

Zhang Wenzhi’s eyes glazed over slightly. He still hadn't given up on Su Muqing.

“Zhang Wenzhi, come in for some tea first,” Su Muqing greeted him with a polite smile.

“No need. I’ve already booked a luxurious private room at the Kaihua Grand Hotel. Let’s head out now,” Zhang Wenzhi chuckled.

“Zhang Wenzhi, you’re too kind,” Su Muqing’s pretty face showed a hint of embarrassment.

“Please don’t doubt my sincerity, Ms. Su. And Mr. Shen, although we had a slight disagreement last time, I hope you can forget about what happened,” Zhang Wenzhi glanced at Shen Yifei, forcing a smile onto his face.

“Oh,” Shen Yifei simply shrugged.

“Get in.” Zhang Wenzhi enthusiastically opened the front passenger door, smiling elegantly at Su Muqing, looking utterly refined.

Without a word, Shen Yifei opened the rear passenger door. With a subtle, almost imperceptible move, he took Su Muqing's delicate white arm and guided her, and himself, into the back seat.

Su Muqing’s heart skipped a beat, and she quickly pulled her arm away, glaring at Shen Yifei with a mix of annoyance and embarrassment.

Seeing Su Muqing choose the back seat with Shen Yifei instead of the passenger seat, Zhang Wenzhi’s expression turned grim.

Zhang Wenzhi turned to glance at Shen Yifei, a faint, imperceptible sneer playing on his lips. *This time, if I don't teach this brat a proper lesson, I'll eat my own hat!* he thought.

Once they were in the car, Zhang Wenzhi continuously tried to engage them in conversation, feigning extreme friendliness. Shen Yifei and Su Muqing merely humored him, offering no extra words, finding the atmosphere utterly strange.

After leaving the residential complex, the Maserati drove steadily for about twenty minutes before turning into a relatively secluded alley.

This old, narrow alley wasn’t the main route, but it was a shortcut. Few people traveled it, making it exceptionally desolate.

Just as the Maserati was about to turn a corner ahead, it suddenly stopped.

“Zhang Wenzhi, what’s wrong?” Su Muqing asked curiously.

“Someone’s blocking the road ahead.”

Four thuggish-looking, tattooed youths stood in the middle of the alley, blocking the Maserati. One of them held a brick, glaring at the car’s occupants with malicious intent.

Su Muqing frowned, surprised to encounter street thugs even in such an alley.

“Let’s call the police,” she said without a second thought, immediately reaching for her phone.

“Wait. Let’s see what they want first.” Zhang Wenzhi, who was driving, seemed remarkably calm as he stopped Su Muqing from calling.

Of course, Zhang Wenzhi wouldn't let Su Muqing call the police; in fact, this entire scene was his doing.

At his behest, Liu Meng had found five skilled brawlers. Naturally, Zhang Wenzhi not only wanted to deal with Shen Yifei but also wanted to show off in front of Su Muqing.

There was a quiet path on the way to the Kaihua Grand Hotel. He had instructed Liu Meng to arrange a skit with the five thugs: they were to block the Maserati, pretend to be robbing them, and use the opportunity to thoroughly beat up Shen Yifei.

After Shen Yifei had been soundly thrashed, Zhang Wenzhi would then step in to turn the tide.

Moreover, to achieve the best effect, Zhang Wenzhi had even briefed Liu Meng on how he planned to act and ensured their cooperation.

Although Zhang Wenzhi was a 'man of weakened vitality', he had practiced Taekwondo since childhood and had a trick or two up his sleeve.

Taekwondo was a flashy combat sport, so Zhang Wenzhi planned to demonstrate a mid-air spinning back kick (a Taekwondo technique where the practitioner jumps and rotates to deliver a powerful kick with the heel) in front of Su Muqing.

Of course, a mid-air spinning back kick was very difficult to execute. Without an accomplice to cooperate, he might miss the kick and make a fool of himself. So, Zhang Wenzhi had already arranged with Liu Meng for a specific person, dressed in a black vest, to perfectly facilitate his mid-air spinning back kick.

This plan would kill three birds with one stone: first, he could personally witness Shen Yifei being beaten black and blue; second, he could impress Su Muqing; and third, he could show Shen Yifei just how formidable he was.

However, what puzzled Zhang Wenzhi was that none of the four men in front of him were wearing a black vest.

At this point, Zhang Wenzhi didn't have time to call and clarify. He estimated that the 'expert' in the black vest might have left temporarily due to some urgent matter, especially since the original plan was for five experts to beat up Shen Yifei, but now there were only four.

Zhang Wenzhi suddenly turned to look at Shen Yifei in the back seat and said gravely, “This sort of thing is best handled by us men. I’ve practiced Taekwondo since I was young, and my skills are decent. These hoodlums can be scared off easily. Shen Yifei, let’s both go down and take a look.”

Shen Yifei shrugged, showing no objections. He simply got out of the car with Zhang Wenzhi.

“Hey buddy, spare some cash?” one of the youths asked Zhang Wenzhi, his eyes glinting with ill intent.

Zhang Wenzhi’s eyes lit up. *This act isn’t bad,* he thought. *But haven’t you got the wrong target? We agreed you’d target Shen Yifei. Why are you coming for me?*

Zhang Wenzhi desperately blinked at the youth opposite him.

“What the hell are you blinking at, you deaf bastard?! I said give us some money!” the tattooed youth sneered menacingly.

Zhang Wenzhi’s expression turned awkward. *That idiot Liu Meng, why didn’t he communicate properly with these 'experts'? Now these 'experts' don't even understand the fine details.*

“Shen Yifei, I’ll leave this to you,” Zhang Wenzhi tried every trick to make Shen Yifei act.

“Zhang Wenzhi, I’m not as capable as you. Didn’t you practice Taekwondo?” Shen Yifei chuckled. He was no easy mark.

“Damn it! There’s nothing I despise more than those Taekwondo practitioners! Everyone, beat him up!” the tattooed youth shouted, then charged at Zhang Wenzhi.

The other three also rushed towards Zhang Wenzhi.

“Hey, what are you doing…?” Zhang Wenzhi was stunned, then erupted in fury. *What kind of brain-dead morons did Liu Meng find? They can’t even act out a simple skit!*

Or perhaps, he thought, they were subtly hinting for him to take the lead first.

Zhang Wenzhi’s resolve hardened. He would just have to perform his heroic act ahead of schedule.
