The newcomer was none other than Bai Qingyu. She had just rushed over, having received a direct order from Yang Hu, upon learning Shen Yifei was in the interrogation room.
"You! What have you done?!" Bai Qingyu's eyes widened at the sight of three unconscious officers slumped inside the interrogation room, her face contorted in disbelief as she shrieked.
Shen Yifei clicked his tongue. *This* troublesome woman again? He should have hit her harder, ensured she stayed unconscious a while longer.
"Isn't it obvious what I've done?" Shen Yifei grumbled, clearly annoyed.
If it weren't for this stunning but infuriatingly dense woman, he wouldn't have landed in this mess.
"You! You dared to assault an officer?" Bai Qingyu's usually serene face twisted in shock as she instinctively reached for her holster.
During work hours, Bai Qingyu always kept her sidearm holstered, but it was the weekend, and she wasn't armed.
"Please, they were the aggressors. Just look at this." Shen Yifei tossed the 'confession' paper he held in his hand towards Bai Qingyu.
Bai Qingyu's expression became a mix of surprise and uncertainty. She picked it up, her eyes scanning the lines, her delicate brows furrowing.
This was stretching the truth far beyond reason! The 'confession' even accused him of premeditated murder.
Still, Bai Qingyu managed to grasp one crucial detail: the seemingly flippant young man before her was the very Shen Yifei Director Yang Hu had spoken of.
"To avoid any further misunderstanding, I suppose I should explain." Fearing Bai Qingyu would continue to hound him, Shen Yifei recounted the entire evening's events, including how He Tao had harassed Lin Cai'er.
"My stunning officer," Shen Yifei chuckled after his explanation, "you understand now, don't you?"
Bai Qingyu slammed the door shut and stood squarely in front of it. "I don't care if your story is true or not," she declared. "What *is* a fact is that you assaulted officers! Don't even think about denying it. You're staying right here!"
Bai Qingyu was hardly convinced by Shen Yifei's glib words. However, the Director had given specific instructions: she was merely to keep Shen Yifei contained for the time being.
Shen Yifei felt a surge of frustration. If he stayed here, more officers would surely arrive, turning this minor annoyance into a full-blown incident.
"Get out of my way!" Shen Yifei's patience had worn thin.
"No! Not unless you kill me! I won't let you leave!" Bai Qingyu's beautiful face was cold as she spoke.
"Listen, officer, wake up!" Shen Yifei snapped. "Ten of you couldn't stand against me! If you don't want to be knocked out cold again, move!"
"Bastard!" Bai Qingyu refused to back down, gritting her teeth as she launched a punch directly at Shen Yifei's forehead.
Shen Yifei was seething with irritation. This woman was utterly beyond reason.
As Bai Qingyu's fist arced towards his face, Shen Yifei, with lightning speed, caught her wrist, pulled her forcefully into his embrace, then, twisting, fell backward, pinning Bai Qingyu beneath him.
"Bastard! Let me go!" Bai Qingyu gasped in shock, struggling wildly.
"What are you doing?!" Bai Qingyu's face paled.
"Since you insist on being unreasonable," Shen Yifei declared, "then I'll be unreasonable too."
With that, Shen Yifei began to unbuckle his belt with one hand.
"You..." Bai Qingyu thought the worst, her face drained of color as she writhed frantically beneath him.
It had to be said, Bai Qingyu's perfectly sculpted, fiery figure was undoubtedly capable of igniting the most primal urges.
Feeling Shen Yifei's unsettling gaze, Bai Qingyu's face flushed crimson, and she cried out, choked with shame and indignation: "Pervert! If you dare lay a hand on me, I'll haunt you to your grave!"
Shen Yifei pushed away any inappropriate thoughts and used the belt to secure Bai Qingyu.
"You misunderstood!"
He procured two belts from the two unconscious officers – one for himself, the other to bind Bai Qingyu's slender legs.
Having finished his work, Shen Yifei was about to make his exit.
The interrogation room door was abruptly pushed open again.
A tall, imposing man in a police uniform strode in, exuding an aura of authority. The three stars on his epaulets clearly denoted his rank: Yang Hu, the Director of Public Security for Huahai City (Huahai is the name of the city).
"Director Yang, be careful of this man!" Bai Qingyu called out breathlessly.
Shen Yifei glanced at Yang Hu. A flicker of surprise crossed his face. *Him?* Tsk, it seemed his days in Huahai City were about to get complicated again.
Knowing Yang Hu's usual demeanor, Shen Yifei fully expected him to snap to attention and render a perfect military salute.
Just as Yang Hu straightened, about to salute, Shen Yifei quickly shot him a discreet glance.
Yang Hu understood immediately, realizing his former instructor likely wished to conceal his true identity. He promptly declared in a loud, formal tone, "Mr. Shen Yifei, hello! I am Yang Hu, Director of the Huahai City Police Bureau."
Meeting Shen Yifei again, Yang Hu's voice held a tremor of excitement. Though Shen Yifei was significantly younger, he remained the man Yang Hu respected above all others!
Bai Qingyu, observing from the side, was utterly dumbfounded. How could the Director be so deferential to this pervert?
Shen Yifei coughed, then chuckled, "Ah, yes, hello..."
"Mr. Shen," Yang Hu inquired immediately, "could you please tell me what transpired?"
Shen Yifei gave a concise account of the events.
"Public Security Captain He Guobing (He Guobing is the head of the Public Order Unit)?" Yang Hu's gaze flickered to the unconscious He Guobing in the corner, and his expression abruptly hardened.
"Mr. Shen, rest assured," Yang Hu declared with righteous indignation, "I will dispatch a thorough investigation into this He Guobing immediately, and he will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law!"
Shen Yifei nodded. "As you wish."
Bai Qingyu watched the two men, their exchange a bizarre choreography, her mind reeling with questions. What *was* wrong with the Director today? The moment he saw this pervert, all his authority seemed to vanish. And his tone was so clearly biased towards Shen Yifei.
"Director Yang!" Bai Qingyu bit her lip, stating, "This man, Shen Yifei, assaulted officers, and just now he... tied me up. He might have had ill intentions."
Shen Yifei's face darkened. "Ill intentions? Who had ill intentions?" he retorted. "Wasn't it simply to prevent you from getting hurt if you continued to resist that I restrained you?"
*Seriously?* Bai Qingyu was speechless. *What kind of excuse was that?*
"Alright, alright," Yang Hu interjected. "Mr. Shen is not to blame for this. Mr. Shen, I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. You are free to leave the police station now; I will handle everything from here on out."
Shen Yifei nodded with satisfaction. Yang Hu, it seemed, was still quite sharp.
"Director Yang! There are still so many irregularities in this case! The statements need verification! How can you just let him go?" Bai Qingyu challenged.
*Irregularities? What irregularities?!* A bead of sweat trickled down Yang Hu's forehead. He was just glad Shen Yifei hadn't caused *more* trouble. He knew his former instructor's temperament all too well; if truly provoked, there was no telling what the man was capable of.
