Inside the interrogation room.
No matter what the two officers asked, Shen Yifei answered each question without a hint of pressure, seemingly unfazed.
Both officers were surprised by Shen Yifei's cooperation. He Guobing, in particular, wore a sneer, thinking, 'This kid must be a complete imbecile. Framing a fool like him will be ridiculously easy.'
“Kid, you just assaulted He Tao, didn't you?” the tall officer inquired.
“Yes. I did assault him, but he deserved it,” Shen Yifei replied unhurriedly.
He Guobing erupted in fury, slamming his hand on the table before him. He roared, “You damn insolent brat! You dared to lay hands on my son, and now you have the gall to be this arrogant?!”
Shen Yifei chuckled, “Your son is far more arrogant than I am. And by the way, he absolutely deserved that beating! Don't worry, the next time I see him, I’ll beat him again.”
The moment his words fell, every officer in the interrogation room involuntarily drew a sharp breath.
They had seen arrogance before, but never anything approaching Shen Yifei’s level.
He Guobing’s facial muscles twitched. Furious beyond words, he laughed, a cold, humorless sound. “Alright, alright, you stubborn fool! You won’t shed tears until you see your own coffin! Sign this document, now! Dare to play games, and I’ll make you regret ever being born!”
With that, He Guobing tossed a pre-prepared confession onto the table in front of Shen Yifei.
Shen Yifei picked it up and his eyebrows lifted. The concocted charges listed were enough to send him to prison for life.
“Officer, to arrange so many charges for me… your authority is truly immense. Does this police station operate without the **Rule of Law** (the fundamental principles of justice and legality, rather than arbitrary power)?” Shen Yifei’s voice was chilling.
“Here, *I* am the law! Don’t test my patience. Sign it, now!”
He Guobing, in his forties, was one of the more senior officers. Yet, in all his years, he had never achieved any significant merit, only excelling in the art of bullying ordinary citizens.
He had climbed to his position as **District Public Security Captain** (a high-ranking officer in charge of public order) purely by virtue of his age. Usually, he was arrogant and overbearing, with a strong thuggish streak, his words and actions always coarse. Now, with Shen Yifei having assaulted his son, He Guobing’s rage swelled to a **realm** (a level or peak) of fury; he was determined to make an example of this youth.
“And if I don’t?” A cold glint flashed in Shen Yifei’s eyes.
He Guobing bristled with rage. Since reaching his current position, he had never encountered such a brazen commoner!
If he didn’t make this brat suffer, would the kid think he was a soft touch?
“Don’t sign? Hmph, I’ll let you taste the consequences of your arrogance first!” With that, He Guobing rose and stalked towards Shen Yifei.
Shen Yifei remained seated within the interrogation cell, his left hand cuffed to the iron bars, completely immobilized. By all accounts, resistance should have been impossible.
He Guobing circled Shen Yifei, then lifted his right leg and savagely kicked Shen Yifei’s back.
“Thud!”
After a dull thud, Shen Yifei remained unfazed. It was He Guobing who gasped, a sharp intake of breath. He felt as if Shen Yifei’s back was as hard as solid rock! The immense pain nearly sent He Guobing tumbling.
However, He Guobing assumed he had simply kicked too hard, thinking, ‘If my leg hurts this much, imagine what he must be feeling!’
Yet, Shen Yifei remained firmly seated, utterly unshaken by the kick. He Guobing’s face instantly flushed with shame and anger. In the past, when he kicked commoners, a single blow was always enough to send them sprawling. This unexpected failure made him lose considerable face.
He Guobing lunged forward, roughly grabbing Shen Yifei’s hair. He snarled, “Kid, I see you won’t shed tears until you see your own coffin! You won’t sign, will you? I’ll make sure you know the consequences!”
Shen Yifei’s lips twitched. He had originally thought the situation could be handled without drawing too much attention, but He Guobing had now thoroughly enraged him.
“You two, over here! Beat him!” He Guobing yelled at the two officers on the side of the interrogation room.
The two tall officers immediately rose from their seats. They were He Guobing’s men, and this was certainly not their first time doing such a thing.
Stepping into the interrogation cell, the two officers exchanged sinister grins. One, a bald officer, barked ferociously, “Kid, if you want to avoid more pain, sign that confession right now!”
Shen Yifei remained expressionless. Without warning, he extended his right hand and tapped the **national emblem** (a symbol of authority and duty) on one officer’s cap. “You wear this national emblem on your head,” he stated flatly, “do you truly honor what it represents?”
That tall officer, Liu Zhigang by name, saw Shen Yifei tap his cap, and his face instantly darkened.
Ever since Liu Zhigang donned the police uniform, he had felt invincible. Aside from feigning subservience before his superiors, every ordinary citizen he encountered would tremble in fear and show him utmost respect.
How dare a mere greenhorn like him be so arrogant?
Without a word, Liu Zhigang sprang into action. He seized Shen Yifei’s wrist with one hand and pressed down on his shoulder with the other, intent on subduing him single-handedly and showcasing his superior martial prowess.
Shen Yifei’s expression turned grim. He grabbed Liu Zhigang’s arm, pulling and twisting. A sickening, sharp *crack* of bone breaking echoed clearly.
“Aaaargh!!!”
Liu Zhigang let out a truly agonizing shriek, his face pale as he clutched his arm, writhing endlessly on the ground.
“You’re dead!” the other officer roared, launching a punch at Shen Yifei.
Shen Yifei unexpectedly lashed out with his right fist, slamming it directly into the attacking officer’s fist.
The two fists collided. The officer’s knuckles instantly shattered, blood splattering, accompanied by sharp *cracking* sounds and his own shriek of pain.
Shen Yifei’s movements didn’t stop. He swiftly delivered two kicks, sending the two officers, one to his left, one to his right, flying. They crashed to the ground, unconscious.
He Guobing watched, utterly stunned, his face blanching. He bellowed, “You! You dare to assault an officer?!”
“You call yourself an officer?” Shen Yifei stood up, his face devoid of expression.
With a slight exertion of **internal energy** (a mystical life force and power cultivated by martial artists), the handcuff on his right wrist twisted and snapped free. He casually tossed it aside.
He Guobing instantly panicked. He swiftly drew a Type 64 pistol from his waistband, pointing it at Shen Yifei’s head. “You move one inch, and I’ll blow your brains out!” he threatened.
Shen Yifei’s lips twitched slightly, a chilling aura radiating from his entire being.
He pushed open the iron door of the interrogation cell and walked towards He Guobing, seemingly unconcerned by the pistol in the officer’s hand.
“Take one more step, and I swear to God I’ll kill you!” He Guobing yelped, startled. Was this kid insane?! How could he not fear a gun?
Shen Yifei took a single step, his body blurring into a shadow. With the speed of lightning, too fast to even cover one’s ears, he snatched the pistol from He Guobing’s hand.
“W-what?” Seeing the gun gone from his hand, He Guobing’s entire body trembled in fear.
Shen Yifei casually tossed the Type 64 pistol aside, then delivered a swift kick to He Guobing’s abdomen.
“Ugh, argh!” He Guobing let out a cry of agony as his body flew back five or six meters, his head striking the wall. His eyes rolled back into his head, and he collapsed, unconscious.
Having incapacitated the three men, Shen Yifei picked up the confession from the table, a cold sneer on his lips. These individuals must routinely exploit and harm ordinary citizens with such tactics.
“Thud!”
Just then, the door to the interrogation room suddenly burst open.
